Dust Collector Plays an Important Role in Laser Cutting Machine

With the emergence of fiber laser technology, laser cutting machines have occupied an important position in the field of sheet metal processing. During the processing of workpieces of laser cutting machines, high-temperature ablation will produce a lot of smoke and dust, which will cause contamination of some precision parts on the equipment. At the same time, the smoke and dust will also have an adverse impact on the health of the operators. If the cutting smoke is not treated, it will affect the service life and cutting performance of the laser cutting machine, so the dust removal system of the laser cutting machine is particularly important.


The dust collector is mainly used to collect the smoke and dust generated by the laser cutting machine during the cutting process and discharge it after purification. Generally, the dust removal system of a laser cutting machine is designed as an integral ventilation structure with a large cavity. In order to meet environmental protection requirements, a high-power dust collector needs to be used, which occupies a large area, and the pipeline installation is complicated, which can easily cause unsealing and air leakage. Resulting in poor ventilation effect. During actual work, the smoke and dust generated by the cutting machine cannot be exhausted in time, which will affect the user's working environment.


One solution is to use partitions to divide the lower part of the laser cutting machine workbench into several chambers of equal geometric size arranged longitudinally and a main suction duct at the front. The main suction duct is connected to the dust collector; each chamber There is a valve between it and the main air suction duct, and the mechanical control valve controls the cylinder through the air inlet pipe and the air outlet pipe; there is a hopper in the small room, with welded end plates at both ends for sealing, and there are several ventilation holes in the lower parts of both sides of the hopper. By opening and closing the valve, the ventilation process of the system is controlled. This method saves space and improves dust removal effect.


Another solution includes a main body, a main chassis and a control cabinet. A dust cover is provided to absorb all the smoke and dust generated when the laser cutting machine is working. This can ensure a clear working line of sight and improve work efficiency. The dust cover can also be used during work. It ensures that residues will not splash around, protects the safety of operators, adds a layer of protection, and improves the popularity and applicability of the device.


Although the dust removal system is not the most important consideration when choosing a laser cutting machine, an efficient dust removal system is an important condition for ensuring normal production and must not be ignored.


Working Principle:


1. After the laser cutting machine is turned on, the matching dust collector starts to work.

2. The smoke and dust generated by laser cutting enter the purifier through the reserved pipe opening of the laser machine and under the power of the purifier exhaust.

3. After entering the purifier, the spark smoke first enters the spark catcher. After the spark is extinguished, it falls into the ash hopper.

4. The fine dust then enters the surface of the filter cartridge. The coarse particles collide with each other under the action of wind force and inertia force, and naturally settle to the bottom ash collection hopper; the dust particles with fine particle size and low density pass through a combination of diffusion and filtration. The effect is deposited on the outer surface of the filter material of the filter cartridge and intercepted.

5. The filtered clean gas penetrates the filter material and is discharged from the inner wall of the filter cartridge.

6. The smoke pollutants trapped during filtration will cover the surface of the filter material and gradually accumulate. The automatic pulse backflush cleaning system starts, compressed air automatically blows and cleans the filter cartridge, and the dust is shaken off to the dust collection drawer.


When working, the fiber laser cutting machine does not produce a lot of smoke and dust like traditional plasma cutting methods. The fiber laser cutting machine has a special dust removal device, which will directly transport the collected smoke and dust to the smoke filtration and purification equipment, and then discharge it after uniform filtration and purification until it reaches the standard. The smoke generated by cutting is basically formed under the cut of the workpiece. Therefore, in order to save equipment investment and improve the ventilation efficiency, only the area during the cutting process is vacuumed. There is an air outlet on the side of the fiber laser cutting machine. This kind of structure is relatively simple and has good dust removal effect, so it is widely used.


What Should You Pay Attention to When Choosing a Separate Dust Collector?


1. The air volume of the laser cutting smoke purifier. Before choosing a matching laser cutting smoke purifier, you should first understand the bed structure of your laser cutting machine, the design of the smoke collection flow channel, the laser power, the material and thickness of the cutting plate, etc., and understand the amount of smoke generated by the laser cutting machine when it is working. Only by selecting the air volume and filtration speed of the dust removal equipment based on these data can the ideal effect be achieved.


2. Safety protection. Large sparks will be generated during the laser cutting process. In order to eliminate fire hazards, fire prevention measures are particularly important. If you want to produce safely, you must pay attention to whether the dust collector has protective measures, such as primary fire net, flame retardant filter element, spark arrester, etc.


3. Whether there is an automatic pulse cleaning function. This feature is really, really important! After the filter cartridge has been filtered for a period of time, a lot of dust will accumulate on the surface. If it is not cleaned in time, it will affect subsequent purification. Therefore, automatic dust cleaning is very useful. It can automatically clean up the dust before serious accumulation, keeping the filter cartridge clean. Good filtering function, extended use time.


4. Price. Try to find the source manufacturer of the purifier. The product quality is guaranteed and there are no middlemen to make profit from the price difference. It is cost-effective. However, when purchasing a purifier, you should not just pursue cheap prices. If it is too much lower than the average price of equipment on the market, then you should worry about the quality of the product.
